Working Hard

We went to the hospital today and adjusted the pain medication and feeding regimens. The pain adjustment should mean I feel much more comfortable, and the feeding adjustment means the feeding is designed for weight gain, albeit slow, instead of weight maintenance. I feel much better with these issues addressed.

The PET scan is tomorrow and then we meet with the Lymphoma doctor on Friday. By Friday we should have a lot more insight into the next phase of tumor fighting and I should be feeling much better.

This week we also have many visitors, and visitors inject us with energy and optimism, so I have high hopes for the next four days.

I wish everyone a great week. This could be one of the great weeks of my recovery depending on test results and my body's response to the feedings and pain meds.

TCB!

Sitting here in the OBX looking out at the surf wishing you guys were sitting here with us. This town still owes you last summer's trip, so something tells me you're due for a few weeks down here when this is all over!!!

But I'm so glad to hear that things are moving in a good direction and that the possibility for things to move that way even faster are within reach. The "tide" has just GOT to turn. Thinking of you guys constantly. Liza is a complete champion of all things! Not only is she a fabulous wife, mother and nurse, but she is also a heckuva friend. May being surrounded by the love and energy of all your visitors this week lift you up ... wish we could be there!

Thinking of you ... keep TCB!!

WAIT! More food? What could be wrong with that? And WAIT! More pain meds? Alright! I'm silly but you are amazing and I hope these changes bring you much deserved comfort and strength. I can't wait to see you guys next week. I'm sure we'll be celebrating nothing but good news.
xoxo,

Speaking of working hard...I was in a brutal squash match a couple days ago...i reached that point of fatigue where you feel like giving up...i told myself...Dave would cherish being on this court...plow on for holder...this is nothing like he is going through...i ended up beating my opponent for the first time in years of trying. He asked what got into me at the end. I said a friend of mine picked me up.

You are always in our thoughts, especially when I need to dig deep and find that extra effort. You are a great example for all to follow.

You are a warrior. You are a hero. I am proud to fight by your side.

Here's hoping you're feeling a bit more comfortable after the meds adjustment and hopefully the weight gain will follow. My best to Liza, Eli, and Reed.

Prayers and God bless as always. Anxiously awaiting to hear some good news on Friday!

I am one of Elizabeth's best friends from Smith. We met years ago.
I wanted to send my positive, warm wishes for a great week- full of good news.
I too have two young boys, so hearing about yours makes my heart melt. I am so glad that you are all together now. Liza is doing such an exceptional job taking care of all of her men!
I know how much your sister loves and cares about you and that makes your journey to recovery that much more poignant.
Take care,
Jody

Dear David,

It's Karianna - I was in your junior year chem. class. I've been checking in to see your progress and want to send love and good thoughts your way. I'm anticipating good results for your efforts. I am presently expecting and was due on Friday (today's Wednesday) - we're playing the waiting game. Sounds like your two sweethearts give you such love and happiness. Can't wait to have my own!

I send much love and warmth to you during this tough time. I picture the good vibes that everyone is sending you right now doing good work in your body.

Love,
Karianna
