Today's been great. I went to Annapolis to have lunch with a friend. I ate fish overlooking the Deep Creek as the bright setting sun warmed up the dining room. Nobody in site was in a rush. We took our time with lunch and then had some fresh apple pie. When was the last time I had dessert at lunch? What was I thinking? Dessert at lunch is great. I hope everyone takes time for a little lunchtime dessert sometime soon. :)

Memories
One of the great benefits of this disease has been reconnecting with people. I've been so lucky to have crossed paths with so many good people over the years. It seems every couple days an old friend appears with an email or phone call. Each communication has an immediate physical effect on me. Some chemical must be released in my brain that allows me to recall the good times and fond feelings, and the memories wash over me like a warm blanket. If I'm physically down at that moment, then the pain goes away as I get lost in the memories. It's like a drug. So from the user to my pushers: thank you!

David, your prose is so poetic. Thank you.
I love this entry, apple pie, and you.

Mom
Dave, your Mom is right. Your prose is so poetic.
You should hang out with Uncle Doodles and me a lot. We eat dessert after lunch a LOT. Once your life gets back into the normal swing of things, join us and we'll give you a dessert tour of Bethesda. Dana
