Last night a couple of friends came over at 8 (after 6 I'm usually pretty spent) and the four of us just sat on the couch, relaxed and talked. I was happy to rally for the occasion. It felt like old times. It felt good.
Right now Liza and I just dropped Eli at school and we're on our way to the hospital for my weekly blood work. If all goes well I don't hear from the hospital after I give blood. They check everything and if there's a problem they call. The most likely areas of concern right now are red and white blood cell counts.
I hope everyone is enjoying beautiful early Fall weather like we're having in DC. Have a great day!

Dave: I am Stacie Mann's sister-and she shared your blog with me. I am sending all good vibes to you. You might recall that at Beth Am we used to sit near you guys. Sounds like medically you have got the best people helping you but feel free to call on either of my parents (John and Risa Mann) who spent their entire lives and careers at Hopkins. Wishing you many nights of good sleep and a heary appetite! Gilda Mann Zimmet
Dave,
John and I just heard news of your situation today from Mike Nicolini. Our thoughts and goodwill are with you and your family. Obviously, you are surrounded by wonderful family and friends and please know that good thoughts are coming your way from Colorado.

Hi David,
Hope you liked the Spinach pie last night and that it didn't upset your stomach too much. It was good to see you smiling. Hope that today was a good day. I also sent Liza Michael's information for you to call him. He'll be in chemo the next few days but will be out by Tuesday.
Dan, Sofia, Andres and I send our love to you!

OK, here goes...A man entered the bus with both of his pockets full of golf balls. He sat next to a beautiful blonde woman. The uzzled blonde kept looking at him and his bulge in his pockets. Finally, after many such glances from her, he said, "It is golf balls"
Nevertheless, the blonde continued to look at him for a very long time, thinking deeply at what he had said. After several minutes, not being able to contain her curiosity any longer, she pointed to his groin and asked "Does it hurt as much as tennis elbow"?
David...glad you had a good day!

Why does Tigger have to take so many baths?
Because he loves playing with Pooh!!
Hi David,
I haven't met you YET but feel such a bond for your situation. I know that the "curves" that life has thrown me have also been the the greatest opportunities for growth. And from what I read, you are certainly finding the silver lining in this cloud you and your family have been under. Hearts open, more love and appreciation enter and you are forever changed. Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone. It gives all of us an opportunity to grow as well.
Wishing you and your family a happy New Year.

It was a real treat to have Liza with us for dinner. She seemed a little tired, but also seemed to really enjoy her girls night out. Your Mom is right, you are an absolute inspiration, as is Liza. I hope your day is a good one. Love, Dana
Dave - thinking about you all the time, i've quickly become blog junkie, thx for makng the effort to keep it up, your spirit and attitude are amazing. David-
Ironically, I looked for you at Beth Am last week and then my cousin Jamie Schapiro forwarded me your blog. I am overwhelmed with emotion. I just finished my own battle with breast cancer and lost my hair, had one year and 3 months of chemo and 5 surgeries in 1 year. I am now fine and you will be too. You go on to start life with a new normal, a better normal. So many good things have come out of it for me and they will for you too. I am thinking of you and here if you need to ever talk or email. Hard to think back to my Bat Mitzvah album with a picture of you sitting on my lap!, that we would be challenged in our life in this way. Your attitude is amazing and that really helps and so does all the support from your family, friends and community. Thinking of you, Jill Schapiro Mull
