The objective of this blog is to keep my friends and family up to date on my delymphomanization.
I was diagnosed with "Stage III Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma NOS" in August 2007, at 34 years old, with an amazing wife, two kids, loving dog, and generally feeling (as I continue to so feel), as blessed as anyone on this earth.
Stage III means the cancer is in more than one place (my abdomen and clavical), but not in my bone marrow. T-Cell Lymphoma is standard cancer of the lymph node system. N.O.S. means "not otherwise specified", or not one of the standard forms of T-Cell cancer, but somewhat understood nonetheless.
I am going through CHOP chemotherapy until late November. If all goes well, then the cancer will be killed and I'll be back to normal. If there are unexpected hurdles along the way, then I'm in excellent hands with world-wide Lymphoma experts at Georgetown, Hopkins, and Sloan Kettering.

Thanks for the update. I'm always wondering, and it's good to hear from you even if it's just to know that you're "here" and getting through it. I'm praying for the upswing to start soon. love, Dana
Hi Dave,
Thank you for the update. What you are doing is huge.
You're doing great!

Good to hear from you. Thinking about you. Have not wanted to bother you and Liza much, but know we are constantly thinking about you. It's dark only until the sun rises again. Hope it comes quickly for you.
Oh, the last posting was from me.

Hang in there, David. We're thinking of you.

Am also always wondering how you are and wondering what we can possibly do for any of you to make this stage - the toughest one by far - at least a wee bit more manageable. PLEASE call on us if you need help. In the meantime, keep the nose to the grindstone ... and, "If you're going through hell, keep going." (My favorite Churchill quote!)
Thinking of you and hoping that sunrise starts very soon!

I'm wishing you lots of good sleep to help you be your absolute strongest. That's awesome to learn that Batman is Jewish! Xo Leigh McKenna
Hey Dave - just checking in to say hello. It's been raining cats and dogs out here in Cali. Lots of wind, rain and horrendous driving, in which I participate. We went down to LA for Ann's cousins wedding - and back up today. Natalie (now 9 months) is doing great on the flights (until she doesn't!) and she's had plenty in her young life with family all over the map. I'm going to shoot you a link to our family pics website, so if you have some free time, you can go and bore yourself! Stay strong, my man, we're with you.
Ethan
We're here too...always.
Keep the photos coming...it's a trickle...needs to be a wave!!
Love, Sal
Dave, you have to stop this. Your strength, your courage and your incredible spirit are making me look bad. I'll be out of the Superman business before you know it, and it will be your fault.

P.S. I couldn't think of anyone who would look better in the red cape -- and when you get better in a few months, you'll just need to eat copious amounts of fast food in order to fill out the blue suit.
