Chemo Chair
I'm sitting in the chair now. It's a nice big room, the nurses treat us like we're at a 5-star hotel (snacks, drinks, blankets, lunch at noon), I'm in a recliner by the window with Liza here (in not as comfy a chair unfortunately). I'm plugged in with my iPod and Blackberry, feeling very hip as the poisons do their work. I feel like this is a game and I'm taunting the medicines, telling them to come on in just so I can beat them back.

David,
Sending you and your family our love and support. I remember you as a happy little boy, trailing after me and Elizabeth during playdates at your house. I have no doubt that your vivacious smile and wit from those days are still with you. I also know you have a wonderful family and lots of love to keep you strong. Keep up the positive energy, and we'll do our best to send more your way. :)
Sincerely,
Anne Henslee (nee Friedlander, FS '88)
Dave,
Sending you and loved ones positive thoughts, prayers and support. Keep on fighting and know that you have a lot of people with you as go through these difficult times. Reading your thoughts is a great inspiration for the rest of us, thanks for your strength and make those nurses work - you should be getting 5 star treatment!

Dave-
If I could give you the biggest hug right now, I would. Willie just passed your blog information on to our family, and I want you to know I am thinking of you and yours. You are one of the strongest people I have ever met, and your strength is a great asset right now. From an old friend, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you at all times. All my love to you and your beautiful family!

David,
Your name only came up a couple of weeks ago as I found myself at new faculty orientation at Princeton Day School. I finally met Lila Lohr, who is Interim Head of School, and we made the Friends School of Baltimore connection. Your name was among the Friends Schoolers that she touted for being a friend to her son, and I felt good to be able to say I knew you and your family and was classmates with Elizabeth.
From the days playing for the Quakers and being on campus and around your family, I know you are tough, full of positive attitude and energy, and surrounded by loving family and friends. Keep up the fight knowing that those of us who can't be right there for you are rooting you on while thinking of you and wishing you additional great strength, determination and support as you battle onward to victory.
All the best,
Angelo Valle
