On Our Way

Liza's at home. I'm at the apartment with my dad. Tough times and tough times ahead, but my dad and I are working hard, as is Liza. We'll turn it around slowly, particularly with your love and support.

May you all have great times, enjoy the Olympics and family and each other.

All my best and love,
Dave

Nothing like Dad.

Happy Sunday buddy. If you're up to it, USA vs. NED in soccer now. USA vs. China in hoops at 10 AM on NBC.

Hey buddy,

I sense a little less energy in your post so don't mind me as i inject you with a shot of adrenalin...Mens 4 x 100 Free Relay race...phelps screaming towards the sky with arms outstreached wide releasing so much positive energy...havnt seen anything like it since Braveheart yelling Freedom in the middle of the battle field...havnt seen anything like it since you lying on the couch in the apartment writing these posts...you are a hero...you are a warrior...you are a cancer olympic gold medalist.

Freedom!!!!!

Dave,

What you've been through has taken the strength and endurance of an olympic athele. Once you clear this hurdle, it will be sweeter than any gold medal.

david - reading your blog reminded me of what an incredibly uplifting person you are to know. i can remember bumping into you in the hall in law school - always, always(!) with that smile. I'm thinking of that smile now and sending you one from me, along with a hug.

Hello David,

My name is Leila, and I am another Friends School alum who heard of your blog through the alumni grapevine. I graduated with your sister, Annie, and have memories of you as the star athlete, the heroic resuscitator of a choking colleague with the Heimlich, and overall, as a very kind person. My family and I are so inspired by your courage, positive spirit, and love for your family and friends. I send our best wishes to you. Please know that we are praying for your very speedy recovery.

David and Liza,

Just wanted you to know that Team Holder has grown even larger over the last week. People whom you have never met are praying for you in Greenwich, McLean, San Francisco, NYC, Portsmouth, Rye, Darien, Charlottesville, and of course, DC. Feel the love and know that we are all behind you every step of the way.

Hugs, Torrey, Tony, and Nathaniel

I don't think it is a coincidence that you and Michael Phelps are from Baltimore. City of champions.

Keep it up, pal!
