Recap

Today, on balance, was the best since chemo began. I started shaky, and I still can't sleep and my belly aches, but I had two big meals, took a good ten minute walk with Liza and then another, on my own, to my neighbor Joel's house. Joel's new sunroom, complete with nice sound system, fat comfy chairs, and a cool fan breeze is a chemo-man's palace. We just sat listening to loud good music and I had my first social outing since July! Now Liza's out to dinner with her friend Karen, and the fact that I'm trusted to watch the house (kids already sleeping of course) is a miracle. It is about the first thing I've done to help out in a while if sitting on the couch blogging, (thank you PhilTube for making this funny) counts as helping. This has been one of the hardest effects, my fatigue and the inability to help Liza as she tackles everything with grace, constant kisses, and big smiles.

I'm just LOVING the fact that you are feeling not only healthy, but hip! Holder, where on earth did you get all this pizazz? ;) It's so absolutely wonderful to see your spirits up and hear your "voice." We've missed you! Keep removing those darn cancer demons. And know that the prayers will continue to sail to you through the sunshine.
Oh - and I might just have to marry Liza when you're done with her! :)

Thinking of you guys - as always!

My Dearest Dave, Hey it's me, Ty. As you know I'm not much of a church goer. I'm more of an unapologetic sinner. However, my Step-Mom (Sue Buck) is the choir director of Pleasant View Baptist Church near Rising Sun. Her father Rex (my Step Grandad) and his brother Delmer Fred (real name, no lie) are the deacons of the same church, and they all assure me that the entire "flock" will say a prayer for you this Sunday. They have been praying for me for years now and despite the odds I'm still around. It's nice to have 400 Cecil County Baptists in your corner.

Hang in there buddy. Sounds like you're in good spirits and that,, as they say is half the battle. Let me know if you need anything at all. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Ty

Ok, David, now you have 3 churches and 2 synagogues praying for you. You can add Baltimore Presbyterians to the Baptist friends. Included are Faith Presbyterian, where Christa Burns is the Minister; Roland Park Presbyterian, Margaret is the organist; and Second Presbyterian, where I use to turn the pages. Also Kol HaLev, Voice of the Heart, where Geoff Basik,a friend, is the Rabbi. And Bolton Street Synagogue. So you have a fine heavenly choir. Mixed voices.
