Good Night

Last night was my best night in a month. We went to bed around ten thirty and I only had one prolonged wake-up all night, getting up around six with the family. I then cooked, ate, and cleaned-up an egg breakfast, with which I drank a half glass of water. While this may sound non-newsworthy, it counts as remarkable in the past month.

Dave,
So happy you had some laughter, a walk, some normal time with kids, and are gaining strength for tomorrow. The visualization of health, deep breathing, and positive thinking is such a huge component of health. We are sending all our positive energy your way for tomorrow. All our love, Seema and Vinny

David (& your beautiful family),
I just received an e-mail from your darling sister and my dear friend Elizabeth with the link to your blog...thereby informing me of your health. I just want you to know that my thoughts are with you, your wife and those two precious boys. You and both of your sisters are three of the most persistent, stubborn and strong people I have ever known. And I believe that if anyone can beat this, a Holder can!

All my love,
Lynne Bond (Elizabeth's friend from Smith College)

Super to hear that energy is up, and hair is down.

Know that we are sending well wishes, health and strength.

Look forward to seeing you back on the field.

David and Liza,
Jerry and I check your blog and think about you every day. Your strength and optimism are unbelievable. If you have a minute to let us know David's Hebrew name, and that of his mom, we would like to include him in our davening, especially as we hear the shofar. We wish both of you and those 2 beautiful boys a sweet new year, full of the blessings of health and simcha.

All our love and Shana Tova!

Wonderful to hear that you had some good rest and a good meal - amazing what both will do for your spirits. We're thinking of you every day here - and will be even moreso tomorrow. Lots of love, ..Tina and PT

David -
That is newsworthy!! I did a story a few months ago about an amazing young woman who is a breast cancer survivor told me that from the moment you are diagnosed with cancer, you are a survivor. It's not easy, but you fight and you have faith and you know deep in your heart that you will beat this and you do. David, you are in my thoughts and prayers every single day.

Love,
Sara Weisfeldt

Dave,

I got word and this blog link from OG. Never blogged before but can't resist talking to you. I know your smiling, so of course I'm smiling. You are the man! Back in 1993, you beat me in bball at the court in Alberding Field House. You were a warrior then and you are a warrior now...no doubt. Positive Visualization- John McCain was a POW in Vietnam. He maintained his health by playing golf over and over in his mind. When he returned home he immediately went to the course he had been envisioning and shot one of his best rounds. When asked how he did it, he said he had a long time to practice. The point is not the golf score but the fact that he was physically and mentally able to even play. I'm not trying to raise money for McCain either! I just thought it was an exceptional example of the powerful force your mind and attitude can be. You have the right approach...keep it up...we're all waiting and rooting for you at the finish line...everyday you are a step closer.
