Two Weeks Into Chemo Regimen #1
I was discharged from the hospital today in an effort to keep me from getting sicker in the final week prior to my next chemo run on Thursday. I have to get my white blood cells up and some other things, but I'm working hard to make it all happen. The key is to keep on the chemo schedule so we can kill these cells as efficiently as possible. Physically, I basically lie in bed and try to eat and drink. If I take a short walk it is a struggle. With more food and more drink, and as we get further from the last chemo, hopefully the physical strength will return.
Liza continues to be a miracle worker. She was with me almost all day in the hospital while managing her job, the kids, the house, and all of my medical issues. I love her more than life itself.
While my energy is a zero on a scale of 1-10, I feel hope and hope alone keeps me going strong. The hope comes from you all. Your outpouring of emails (and calls that I don't know about) offering help and prayers is simply overwhelming. I am the luckiest man on earth. Really. I love you all and please keep pushing for me and my family. I'm convinved this will be a six month battle, but with your help we already know how it will end.
